Abstract:  This systematic narrative review explores the perspectives of intimate partner violence (IPV) victim-survivors on perpetrator intervention programs. Drawing on 16 qualitative studies identified through a structured literature search, the review examines survivor perceptions of the effectiveness of IPV perpetrator programs, the mechanisms of change, and the barriers to successful intervention. Survivors reported some positive changes in perpetrators’ behaviour, including improved conflict resolution skills and changes in belief systems, but concerns remain regarding the sustainability of these changes. Key barriers to change included alcohol dependency, mental health challenges, patriarchal social norms, and relationship dynamics. Survivors highlighted the role of accountability, judicial measures, and support structures in influencing change. The findings underscore the need for IPV perpetrator programs to integrate survivor perspectives and enhance accountability mechanisms to improve long-term outcomes.
