This report examines the development of domestic and family violence (DFV) programs tailored for LGBTQ+ communities, focusing on both perpetrators and victim-survivors. Conducted by ANROWS in partnership with Relationships Australia NSW and ACON, the study sought to create inclusive interventions responsive to the specific needs and experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals. The research highlights the barriers to accessing mainstream DFV services, including structural discrimination, minority stress, and fears related to disclosure and stigma. Due to low program engagement, the study shifted its focus to understanding challenges in locating and engaging LGBTQ+ clients in DFV interventions and workforce development requirements for establishing referral pathways. Findings underscore the need for inclusive training for DFV sector professionals, improved referral pathways, and community engagement strategies to build trust in services. The report provides policy recommendations to enhance service accessibility and effectiveness for LGBTQ+ individuals affected by DFV.en_US
