| Abstract: | This report presents findings from the third Australian Study of Health and Relationships (ASHR3), with a focus on data collected from participants in New South Wales. It provides a representative overview of sexual and reproductive health practices, including testing, diagnoses, and knowledge of HIV and other STIs. The report explores variations across priority populations such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, LGBTQ+ people, sex workers, and people who inject drugs. It includes extensive analysis of sociodemographic factors related to STI and HIV prevalence, testing patterns, condom use, and attitudes toward sexual health. Key findings highlight disparities in knowledge and healthcare access, the need for culturally appropriate sex education, and gaps in awareness and uptake of HIV prevention options such as PrEP. The report underscores the importance of addressing intersectional factors in sexual health policy and practice in NSW. |
