Abstract:  The National Plan to Respond to the Abuse of Older Australians (Elder Abuse) 2019–2023 outlines the commitment of the Australian Government and each of the eight state and territory governments to undertake research, provide services, and develop policy and law reforms to address the complex problem of abuse of older people. It sets out priority areas for action, including enhancing understanding, improving community awareness and access to information, strengthening service responses, planning for future decision-making, and strengthening safeguards for vulnerable older adults.
