Abstract:  This report explores the understandings and experiences of sexual violence and coercion among young women aged 18–25 from African refugee and migrant backgrounds in Australia. It highlights barriers to disclosing sexual violence, including stigma, cultural taboos, and limited culturally tailored services. The study identifies gaps in service provision and the need for culturally sensitive education and prevention programs. Recommendations include improving cultural responsiveness among service providers, developing targeted awareness campaigns, and fostering community-led initiatives to address sexual violence while promoting gender equality and human rights.
