Abstract:  This report outlines best practice principles for interventions targeting domestic and family violence (DFV) perpetrators from refugee backgrounds. Developed through a mixed methods study, including a literature review, qualitative interviews, and a Delphi consensus process, the research identifies key principles for culturally appropriate and trauma-informed interventions. The report highlights challenges faced by service providers and the need for programs that account for the complex individual, community, and systemic factors influencing perpetration of DFV among refugee populations. Findings suggest that interventions should prioritise family and community engagement, be integrated with broader DFV responses, and provide tailored support to address settlement-related stressors. The study provides recommendations for improving the accessibility and effectiveness of perpetrator interventions for refugee communities, ensuring alignment with national and state-based legal frameworks.
