Abstract:  This report examines the role of partner contact in men’s behaviour change programs (MBCPs) in Australia, evaluating how these practices enhance victim-survivor safety and perpetrator accountability. Drawing on national survey data, qualitative interviews, and policy analysis, the study explores the structure, implementation, and impact of partner contact services across different jurisdictions. Findings indicate that while partner contact provides a crucial mechanism for supporting victim-survivors and assessing perpetrator behaviour, there are significant inconsistencies in practice, funding, and integration with broader domestic and family violence service systems. The report highlights best practices in victim engagement, identifies barriers to effective service delivery, and makes policy recommendations to improve the consistency and quality of partner contact within perpetrator intervention systems.
